Early Career Development Seminars on Policy and Public Engagement

The Centre’s ECR Development Group, convened by Dr Sabine Schneider, hosted a series of skills seminars in 2020/21 on topics ranging from policy and public engagement to teaching and knowledge exchange. Its Hilary term seminar included a roundtable on ‘Policy Engagement’ with Dr Andrew Blick (KCL), Dr Julia Giese (Bank of England), and Dr Jakob Schneebacher (Office for National Statistics).

In May 2021, the ECR seminar welcomed Dr Amy Erickson (University of Cambridge) and Dr Leigh Gardner (LSE). Their talks focused on how historians can communicate their research effectively to public audiences, drawing on their recent open access and digital projects: City Women in the 18th Century and Money and Exchange in West Africa
